Six years ago Martin Kelly and his wife began renting a house in Wexford that had been bought using a fund he sold to investors. Kelly is a retired financial adviser who, while sitting in the lobby of the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey, could not recall any details about a Dublin house he had previously claimed to own and described as "valued at €1m". Emails from 2018 show he referenced owning a house in Clonskeagh with an elderly lifetime tenant living there. When presented with those emails, he still did not recognize the property claim.
