"Hosting or simply attending coffee mornings in your home, local GAA club, workplace or community hall can have a massive impact when one considers the number of people who embrace the fundraiser annually,"
"The often unseen work of hospices, enveloped in values of respect, compassion and dignity, only becomes apparent to many of us when we need their services ourselves or for a family member,"
"That contribution to society depends on the goodwill of those who come out year after year to host and support fundraisers so that this work can continue,"
Bewley's Big Coffee Morning for Hospice will take place on September 25 with a national fundraising target exceeding €2 million to support hospices across Ireland. The public are encouraged to host coffee mornings at homes, local GAA clubs, workplaces, or community halls, with events possible at any time. Hospices provide care enveloped in respect, compassion and dignity, maintained by dedicated care staff nationwide. Last year’s campaign raised more than €2.2 million from 2,500 events, supporting 19,000 patients and their families. Eve McMahon, a top-ranked 21-year-old sailor and UCD student, has close family connections to St Francis Hospice.
