A fundraising tea day at Árus Lorcáin in Arklow brought together more than 100 people to raise €2,160 for local Alzheimer Society of Ireland services. Attendees enjoyed tea, cakes, and buns donated by An Ciseán Arán, Joanne’s, and Pettitt’s Arklow. A raffle supported the event’s success through donations from local shops, businesses, and families of clients. Funds will support the Young Onset Dementia Activity Club and Social Club in Arklow and the Dementia Specific Day Centre at The Heather Rest in St Colman’s Hospital, Rathdrum. The event was organised with support from Michelle Bardon, who manages the Arklow club and works as day care manager at the Rathdrum centre. Donations will be used for arts and crafts, flower arranging, day trips, and materials promoting brain stimulation and meaningful activities.
