Kerry families step out in support of Caherleaheen NS playground project
Caherleaheen National School hosted a community fundraiser to support a planned playground development project. Pupils, families, and staff took part in walking, jogging, and running events held each Wednesday evening at John Mitchel’s GAA Club. Over six weeks, participants completed 2km and 5km challenges while staying active and supporting the school project. After each event, refreshments and treats were provided, along with conversation before younger participants went home. The fundraiser aims to generate €30,000 for completion of a new playground, which will be available for wider community use with support from Kerry County Council Community funding. The school thanked the GAA club for facility access and recognized contributions from children, parents, guardians, and supporters through sponsorship cards.
