Give Good Program lets blood donors support charitable partners
"Among the contributors recognized at the ceremony was blood donor Kathy Stiles, one of SBC's top Give Good contributors, who donated 6,000 points to support Blood Cancer United. During the visit, Blood Cancer United representatives took a behind-the-scenes tour of SBC's laboratory facilities. Seeing the lab processes firsthand was incredibly moving, Jenaye Shepherd, Northern California executive director for Blood Cancer United, said in a release."
"Knowing the level of detail and care that goes into each blood unit underscores how vital these donations are for patients impacted by blood cancer. We are incredibly grateful for our continuing partnership with Blood Cancer United, said Jenn Bennett, SBC's marketing and communications director. The Give Good Program allows our donors to make an even greater impact beyond their lifesaving blood donations. SBC will continue expanding collaborations with charitable partners in the coming year to further strengthen the community impact of its donor programs."
Stanford Blood Center presented Blood Cancer United with a $1,418 check collected through the Give Good Program. The Give Good Program enables donors to support community organizations by redeeming earned points from blood donations. Blood Cancer United has participated as a charitable partner since 2018. Donors earn points each time they give blood, which can be redeemed for items or donated to partner organizations. Donor Kathy Stiles contributed 6,000 points to support Blood Cancer United. Representatives from Blood Cancer United toured SBC laboratory facilities and observed blood processing. SBC plans to expand collaborations with charitable partners and invites organizations to join the program.
