Friends of Wexford mother who died in hit and run incident raise over 5,500 at coffee morning
Locals gathered at Breen’s Bar in Gorey during the May Bank Holiday to hold a coffee morning raising funds for The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) in memory of Claire Cullen. Claire Cullen from Riverchapel died after being struck by a car while attending her brother’s wedding in the Dominican Republic in November 2025. The event featured teas, coffee, and treats, and it drew a strong turnout. Donations have raised over €5,500 so far, with counting still ongoing. Organisers also planned to take part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin on May 31 to continue fundraising. A raffle with up to 50 prizes donated by local businesses was held, and ticket sales began weeks in advance. KBRT supports bereaved families repatriating bodies from abroad after sudden or tragic deaths.
