The annual Carnivale gala at Grace Cathedral on March 4th brought together individuals from various backgrounds for a night of hedonism and connection. Attendees engaged in lively conversations about journalism, social events, and maintaining careers in a challenging industry. The atmosphere fostered genuine bonds among participants, transcending traditional church activities. Rev. Miguel Bustos shared the cathedral's history of supporting those in need during the AIDS crisis, emphasizing the importance of community spaces. The event aims to combine fundraising with a sense of unity, encouraging people to congregate and celebrate together.
"Church shouldn't just be a place for solemn religious events - it's a place for community to break bread together," Bustos said.
Carnivale blessed me with good gossipers and genuine connection for two years running. Here is a community that welcomes you in regardless of spiritual background; also one that never wastes good lighting.
