BlackRock's assets under management reached $14 trillion after nearly $700 billion of net inflows in 2025. The iShares ETF franchise added $181 billion in net new money in the fourth quarter, a record for the division. The firm is pursuing an ambitious 2026 fundraising plan focused on private markets, target-date funds, active ETFs, and international retirement savers. Recent acquisitions bring HPS, GIP, and Preqin into its private-markets capabilities for the first full year in 2026. The firm aims for $400 billion of new private market assets by 2030 and is in late-stage conversations with close to 20 insurers. BlackRock plans to launch a target-date fund with private market exposure later this year while the industry watches the Department of Labor.
