The HSE is conducting a review of Autism Initiatives Ireland, now known as Autism a Chara, regarding the alleged transfer of €1.5m in public funding to UK entities. The HSE stated it did not approve or was notified of any such transfers. All funding is intended for disability services within Ireland. Autism Initiatives Ireland informed the HSE of its transition to a wholly Irish-based charity. The HSE is engaging with the Public Accounts Committee on these serious matters.
