The 45th annual Johnstown/Coolgreany Gymkhana & Field Day takes place on Monday 1st June Bank Holiday in Coolgreany Village. Horse and pony jumping starts at 10am, with classes for experienced and less experienced riders. Attractions include a BBQ, tea tent, home baking, a bouncy castle, a bronco bull, and additional activities. A dog show features 13 different classes. Entries for horse, pony, and dog events can be booked online. Raffle tickets are available from committee members, and homemade baking donations are welcomed. Golden Circle will attend Bloom on 28th May with tickets online or at the gate, and a bus departing Tesco at 9am. Local notes include good wishes for people in hospital or convalescing, support for those living alone, birthday greetings, and instructions for submitting local paper notes.
