How to watch the 2026 men's football World Cup in France
The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. In France, M6 acquired free-to-air broadcasting rights for the tournament, ending TF1’s long role as broadcaster of record. M6 and W9 will air 56 matches live, including every France game, the opening match, the semi-finals, and the final. France’s group matches are scheduled for June 16 versus Senegal, June 22 versus Iraq, and June 26 versus Norway. M6+ will provide summaries and highlights from all matches. BeIN will show all 104 matches, with 92 on BeIN Sports 1 and 12 on BeIN Sports 2, and is expected to launch a World Cup-dedicated channel with magazines and exclusive content.
"For the first time since 1978, there's a new free-to-air broadcaster of the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada - M6 acquired the broadcasting rights for the competition, at a price of €120 million, ending TF1's long stint as France's broadcaster of record for the tournament."
"M6 and its sister channel W9 will broadcast 56 matches live from the tri-nation tournament, including every one of France's games, as well as the opening match, the semi-finals, and the final. Les Bleus kick off their bid for a third World Cup on June 16th against Group I opponents Senegal in New York."
"The free-to-air broadcaster will also show summaries and other highlights from all World Cup matches - its M6+ streaming platform. Meanwhile the pay-TV broadcaster BeIN will show every one of the tournament's 104 matches; 92 of them on BeIN Sports 1 and the other 12 matches on BeIN Sports 2."
"In good news for England fans in France, all of England's games are on the free channel, while most of Scotland's matches are also free to air. Less good news for Australian or American football fans however (it's football, not soccer. We are not discussing this further), as their matches are screened on the paid-for channel."
