"I have ordered the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, its air assets, and its escort of frigates to set course for the Mediterranean. In addition to assets already in place, Rafale jets, air-defence systems and airborne radar aircraft have been deployed in recent hours to the region."
"The United States of America and Israel decided to launch military operations, conducted outside international law, which we cannot approve of. But the Islamic republic of Iran bears primary responsibility for this situation, citing Iran's dangerous nuclear programme, support for regional proxies, and orders to shoot its own people during protests."
President Emmanuel Macron announced France is sending its flagship Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, escort frigates, and air assets to the Mediterranean amid widening Middle East tensions. The carrier was redirected from North Atlantic deployment and will take approximately 10 days to reach the eastern Mediterranean. France is also deploying additional air defense units, Rafale jets, and radar aircraft to Cyprus following Iranian drone attacks on the RAF base at Akrotiri. The frigate Languedoc and air defense assets are scheduled to arrive off Cyprus on Tuesday. Macron criticized US and Israeli military operations as conducted outside international law while holding Iran primarily responsible for regional instability, citing its nuclear program and support for regional proxies.
