TotalEnergies extends 1.99 fuel price cap across France for June
TotalEnergies will maintain its fuel price cap throughout June across 3,300 petrol stations in France. Petrol remains capped at €1.99 per litre and diesel at €2.25 per litre. The company also renewed its fixed-price operation for the Mother's Day weekend on May 30–31 and the Father's Day weekend on June 20–21. During those weekends, motorists pay €1.99 per litre for petrol and €2.09 per litre for diesel regardless of wholesale price changes. TotalEnergies stated the measure aims to support traditional family gatherings and that any reductions in international oil prices will be passed to consumers without delay. The fuel benefit programme continues for 825,000 electricity and gas customers, keeping a €1.99-per-litre cap for both petrol and diesel through 2026, including motorway service stations.
"France's largest fuel retailer, TotalEnergies, has confirmed that its fuel price cap will remain in place throughout June at its 3,300 petrol stations nationwide. Under the scheme, petrol (gasoline) prices will continue to be capped at €1.99 per litre, while diesel will remain capped at €2.25 per litre."
"The group has also renewed its "fixed price" operation for the upcoming Mother's Day and Father's Day weekends, on May 30th-31st and June 20th-21st respectively (what's the connection here, you ask? Er dunno. But motorists don't have to provide proof that they have reproduced in order to benefit from the rate). During those weekends, motorists across France will pay a flat rate of €1.99 per litre for petrol and €2.09 per litre for diesel, regardless of fluctuations in wholesale prices."
"In a statement, TotalEnergies said the measure was intended "to support the traditional family gatherings that are important to the French". The company added that if international oil prices fall, any reductions would be passed on to consumers "without delay"."
"TotalEnergies also confirmed that around 825,000 French customers subscribed to its Electricity & Gas services and enrolled in the company's "fuel benefit" programme would continue to benefit from a €1.99-per-litre cap throughout 2026. This preferential rate applies to both petrol and diesel, including at motorway service stations."
