Protests escalated across France as farmers mounted blockades and rolling roadblocks, initially concentrated in Ariège and rapidly spreading across the south-west. Actions expanded northward into the greater Paris region and the Channel port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with around a dozen major highways and numerous smaller roads blocked and ringroad slowdowns. A level crossing protest near Toulouse halted trains on two lines. Préfectures were targeted with demonstrations and buildings sprayed with liquid manure. The protests oppose the government's response to Lumpy Skin Disease and the mass culling of herds where cases are detected. Farmers vowed to continue demonstrations, erecting a Christmas tree at a blockade.
