French opposition parties file no confidence motions over EU deal

Jordan Bardella, president of the far-right Rassemblement National, said his party would be filing a no-confidence motion over Macron "betraying French farmers"."

"More than 25 years in the making, the accord would create one of the world's biggest free-trade areas and allow EU countries to export more vehicles, machinery, wines and spirits to Latin America. But French farmers fear cheaper goods from agricultural giant Brazil and its neighbours will undercut them. The hard-left La France Insoumise has filed its own motion to censure the government over what they said was their country being "humiliated in Brussels and also in Washington"."
