French chief executive of 2030 Olympic Games becomes latest director to quit
"At the meeting of the board on Sunday February 22 2026 in Milan, Cojop and other interested parties took note of the departure of chief executive of Cojop, Cyril Linette. Linette had been in his post since last April, personally chosen by Grospiron, and becomes the fourth senior executive to leave in the past two months."
"They said they had: 'collectively noted irreparable differences between president Edgar Grospiron and the chief executive Cyril Linette' adding 'they had given their go ahead to the president of Cojop to conduct the required discussions' and 'to propose the most convenient solution'."
"French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu had entered the debate on Monday, before the ceremony when the Olympic flag was officially raised in Albertville in the Alps. 'Everyone must at their battle stations and pull in the same direction in order to bring 2030 to fruition,' he said."
Cyril Linette, chief executive of Cojop (the 2030 Winter Olympics organizing committee for the French Alps), stepped down following serious conflicts with president Edgar Grospiron. Linette, who had held the position since April after being personally selected by Grospiron, becomes the fourth senior executive to leave in two months. Earlier statements from interested parties, including regional political leaders, noted irreparable differences between Grospiron and Linette, authorizing the president to propose solutions. The resignation was announced before Grospiron's appearance before a French Senate committee to discuss the leadership crisis. The French Prime Minister emphasized the need for unified effort to deliver the 2030 Olympics.
