But rising costs and recent disasters, like Hurricane Helene, stretched those efforts thin. The storm left many without homes or access to gluten-free food - yet, thanks to an incredible team of volunteers, companies, and local distributors, GIG Cares delivered emergency food boxes to families in need."
GIG offers a free gluten-free holiday recipe e-book featuring recipes made with GFCO-certified products, including Brioche Hot Cross Buns, Sweet Potato Casserole with Ginger Snap Streusel, Holiday Salad, Roasted Butternut Squash, and Red Velvet Cupcake. Recipes aim to make gluten-free cooking easier, safer, and more festive. GIG Cares provides outreach and education and distributes safe food boxes to thousands of gluten-free families nationwide. Hurricane Helene and rising costs strained the program, but volunteers, companies, and distributors delivered emergency boxes to affected families. GIG plans to rebuild reserves and relaunch the Cutting Costs Food Box Program to prevent hunger and unsafe food situations.
