Save Mart is converting two South Bay Lucky supermarkets into FoodMaxx warehouse-style stores at 844 Blossom Hill Road in South San Jose and 3705 El Camino Real in Santa Clara. Both locations will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies featuring gift-card donations to local charities and public festivities. On Nov. 8 the first 100 shoppers at each store who spend $20 or more will receive a free bag of groceries and a $10 off $50 coupon. Each location will host grocery-bagging challenges with local nonprofits and include community appearances and autograph opportunities. Save Mart operates 191 stores and will have 57 Lucky and Lucky California stores in the region. The CARES Foundation is the company’s philanthropic arm.
