Revealed: How to prevent seagulls from stealing your chips
Briefly

As the weather warms, seaside trips will surge, bringing joy but also the unwelcome presence of seagulls. Dr. Neeltje Boogert of Exeter University suggests that wearing highly-contrasting patterns and keeping alert can deter these opportunistic birds. She explains that gulls learn from human behavior and find strong patterns unappealing. Additionally, maintaining eye contact with gulls, eating under structures, and securing bags are effective strategies to keep seagulls at bay while enjoying beach snacks.

Gulls need an easy or unobstructed approach & escape route if they're going to steal your food.
