Across 2025, at-home sales exceeded the UK's rate of inflation in only two of 12 months. Delivery sales in December rose 4.1% like-for-like, while takeaway and click-and-collect orders fell 8.4%, making direct-to-door deliveries more than twice the value of takeaways. Deliveries accounted for £0.115 of every pound and takeaways £0.049. Including new sites and new delivery/takeaway services, December total sales were 9.5% higher year-on-year. Extensions of at-home services risk squeezing dine-in sales and necessitate managing costs, food quality and third-party delivery relationships to restore real-terms growth.
