Chef Dani Chavez-Bello and Alexandra Oliveros Febres-Cordero opened Romeo Room, an intimate speakeasy and live music space above Babette in Coral Gables. The space is accessed via a spiral staircase and is draped in velvet with Old World charm, blending Victorian tea room grace and modern speakeasy intrigue. The menu features thoughtfully crafted cocktails and rotating sophisticated small plates such as croquetas de jamón with golden osetra caviar, Ibérico Cinco Jotas, chawanmushi, and truffled mac and cheese. The bar highlights Estrella Damm as the official beer, an extensive collection of Japanese whiskies, and Nordés Gin. Weekly intimate events will include Sake & DJ Wednesdays.
