Momofuku's Super Peach Goes All in on Asian American Mall Dining
"Momofuku, the David Chang-founded hospitality group behind restaurants that include Chinatown's Majordomo and New York's Noodle Bar and Kabawa, will open its highly anticipated restaurant Super Peach at the Westfield Century City mall on October 19. The restaurant takes over the former St. Marc Pub-Cafe space on the first floor; the name is a nod to Momofuku, which translates to "lucky peach.""
"Super Peach will operate as an all-day restaurant with an approachable menu from Chang and the Momofuku team that combines Korean flavors with California sensibilities and ingredients. Meals can start with Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy and honey garlic sauces, a Momofuku specialty; sesame-marinated cucumbers; and soft tofu with ginger and daikon radish. Fried shrimp with pickled red onion and lemon mayonnaise takes inspiration from Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa, while tender pork belly gets served with a sweet and salty soy and maple glaze."
"Diners can end their meals with desserts like burnt cheesecake with seasonal fruit, salted caramel pudding, or chocolate cake with creme fraiche. With a full liquor license, Super Peach will serve original cocktails like a red miso michelada and the Holiday in the Tropics with banana, curry leaf, lime, and avocado, alongside more classic drinks."
