Mago, an Oakland Latin American fine dining bistro at 3762 Piedmont Ave, will host a month-long dinner series from Sept. 14 to Oct. 11. The seven-part series will feature cultural programming, community partnerships, and various chef collaborations to highlight the diversity of Latin American culture through food. Events include La Cocina Kick Off Party, regional pop-ups, Arepas y Helado, a Bay Area chefs dinner, an industry late-night party, and a three-generation family dinner. Participating chefs include Veronica Bran, Jose Reyes, Norka Hernandez, Pedro Cajas, Daniela Herera, Leidy Benitez, Stephanie De La Cruz, and international talent including Juan Juana Manuel Barrientos. The series celebrates Colombian-American chef Mark Liberman's heritage and regional culinary traditions.
