
"Southern California restaurant chain Lemonade has closed its last remaining Bay Area store amid a larger company shift.Lemonade, which is known for its seasonal menu of salads, sandwiches and bowls served in a cafeteria-style setting, has permanently closed its San Francisco store at the Metreon shopping center. On Thursday, the restaurant had its lights turned off and a chain locked to its main entrance. The fast-casual restaurant has also been removed from the restaurant directory on the Metreon's website."
"A representative at Lemonade confirmed to SFGATE that the store closed late last month, adding that Lemonade no longer operates stores in Northern California. The chain plans to eventually close all of its restaurants, of which there are 22 remaining across California. Lemonade will transition into a ghost kitchen that operates out of its sister restaurant, Mimi's Café, the representative added."
Lemonade permanently closed its San Francisco Metreon location, ending its operations in the Bay Area. The Metreon store was dark with a chain locked on the main entrance and removed from the Metreon's online directory. A company representative confirmed the closure occurred late last month and said Lemonade no longer operates stores in Northern California. The chain plans to eventually close all remaining restaurants and transition into a ghost kitchen operating out of sister restaurant Mimi's Café. The transition began on Oct. 1, and no specific dates were provided for other closures.
