"Just a few months ago, we asked you what kind of food you wanted to see at the latest Time Out Market in Union Square . And let's just say, you let us have it. Suggestions for juicy smashed burgers, foldable pizza slices and two-fisted sandwiches flooded our comment section (and even this editor's personal email address). We hear you, we see you, and now, after months of planning, we are just about ready to feed you."
"Now, Onwuachi continues his ode to the city by channeling his favorite childhood snack: the Jamaican patty. Following successful stalls at CitiField and a truck parked outside his Lincoln Center restaurant, Onwuachi's installment of Patty Palace at the Market will expand on his curried chicken iteration, adding simmering beef and jerk mushrooms to the mix. Oh, and as is tradition, it is all wrapped in coco bread."
Time Out Market Union Square will open inside Zero Irving at 124 East 14th Street with seven restaurants and chefs joining the food hall. The lineup includes Kwame Onwuachi's Patty Palace serving Jamaican patties with curried chicken, simmering beef, and jerk mushrooms wrapped in coco bread. The Unapologetic Foods team of Roni Mazumdar and chef Chintan Pandya will operate Kebabwala, inspired by Delhi night-market kebabs. Offerings at the market will span Caribbean patties, flame-grilled kebabs, Michelin-rated tacos, and other street-food formats such as smashed burgers, foldable pizza slices, and hearty two-handed sandwiches. The market opens next month.
