"Working with [director] Jon Chu [is] amazing, he said. It's changed me. You know, after doing this movie, we talked about the animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry."
"We need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too."
"I broke for lunch before everybody else, he said. All the animals I'd worked with that morning were on the table, cut up, fricasseed, roasted and seared. That was when I decided to become a vegan."
Jeff Goldblum credited working on the Wicked films with his decision to become pescatarian, stopping consumption of meat and poultry after conversations about animal cruelty. Goldblum appears as the Wizard of Oz; the first film earned 10 Oscar nominations and the sequel, Wicked: For Good, opened on 21 November. Wicked: For Good follows Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba as a fugitive fighting for animal rights and Ariana Grande's Galinda as the public Glinda, overseen by Goldblum's villainous leader. Both Grande and Erivo have followed vegan diets since 2013. On-set dietary conversions have historical precedents, including James Cromwell becoming vegan during Babe (1995), and Woody Harrelson influencing several colleagues toward veganism.
