Fifth Annual Bizerkeley Food Fest Returns Sunday With Vegan Food to Please Even the Most Passionate Meat Lovers
"Northern California's largest vegan street fair food festival is back on Sunday, as the Bizerkeley Food Fest busts out vegan food for meat-eaters' taste buds, with vegan versions of KFC bowls, Jack in the Box tacos, and even vegan oxtails. Yes, you can completely pack a food truck festival even if all the food is only vegan particularly if that food truck festival is in Berkeley, California."
"We are the minority, Hazel says. I want to bring people together to defeat the stigma that vegan food is for vegans. It's just really good food. No matter what your diet is, it's just really great food. Meat eaters are the 99%, so I want to show vegan businesses that you don't market to vegans, you market to everyone. Admission is just $5, but kids 17 and under get in free,"
The fifth annual Bizerkeley Food Fest returns to Berkeley on Sunday, September 7, from 12-6 pm at the North Berkeley BART station parking lot. More than 90 food and beverage vendors will participate, featuring plant-based versions of popular meat dishes such as KFC bowls, Jack in the Box tacos, and vegan oxtails. The festival draws large crowds — last year 6,000 attendees overwhelmed MLK Park and downtown parking. Admission is $5, children 17 and under are free; Express tickets are $20 and VIP tickets $75 include early entry and cooking demos. The event aims to show vegan food appeals to all diets.
