Exciting Midtown Korean Cajun Restaurant Will Move Into Bigger Digs
"It's because we are too small,"
"We had to say no to a lot of people when they walked in."
"And a lot of times, people were like, 'It would be so nice to have a nice beer and fried chicken together,'"
"I tried, I fought hard, but we've never been able to get the liquor license."
Kjun will relocate from 154 East 39th Street to a two-story space at 334 Lexington Avenue in Murray Hill, opening in late January 2026. The current site seats about 20 and often turned away walk-ins. The new 2,100-square-foot location will seat about 70 and allow alcohol service. The menu will remain primarily Korean-Cajun while adding some more upscale items such as lobster and grits and new steaks. The first floor will lean into a New Orleans bar atmosphere. The new space occupies the former House of Lasagna location and keeps the restaurant in the same neighborhood to retain regular customers.
