Between July 2024 and March 2025 Drip Collective experienced out-the-door lines as a Chubby Boys pop-up offered a popular breakfast sandwich. The sandwich paired a sizzling steamed egg patty with bacon jam. The steamed egg required about three months of testing to perfect heat, steam time, and ingredients. Chubby Boys launched in 2021 as a burger-focused operation, and the bacon jam began as a condiment for a signature smash burger before elevating the breakfast sandwich. Chicago's breakfast scene expanded with new bakeries, bagel shops, and notable draws like Kasama; pop-up residencies such as Spilt Milk and vendors like Morning Jay's now lead the charge.
