Beloved Hawaii coffee shop closes after nearly 40 years
"Since opening in October 1987, Coffee Gallery has been part of Haleiwa's history and daily life. Over the decades, we welcomed locals and visitors from around the world, and saw multiple generations return through our doors. What began as a coffee shop became a place for connection, memories, and community,"
"Coffee Gallery has always been more than a business. It has been people, relationships, shared moments, and years of hard work,"
"... Thank you to everyone who supported us, worked with us, and made Coffee Gallery what it was. We are deeply grateful."
Coffee Gallery opened in October 1987 and operated for 38 years on Oahu's North Shore in the North Shore Marketplace in Haleiwa. The business functioned as a coffee shop and small-batch roaster offering espresso drinks, tropical smoothies, house-roasted beans and light bites. The shop became a community gathering place that welcomed locals, visitors and multiple generations. The cafe closed on Jan. 31 with customers lining up to order signature items such as the Mocha Freeze. No reasons were released for the closure. Staff and supporters were thanked and described as part of the shop's legacy.
