Legendary local producers such as Laura Chenel, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese, Cowgirl Creamery, Cypress Grove, and Marin French participate, and many offer behind-the-scenes tours. The signature Tasting and Marketplace on March 22 fills the 40,000-square-foot Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa; the festival originally occupied a few tents in a Sheraton Hotel parking lot in Petaluma. Tom Birdsall conceived the festival inspired by regional food festivals. Co-founder Jill Giacomini Basch emphasizes community, curiosity, and the joy of good food bringing people together.
