An Iconic 1980s Brand Is Opening a Bar in Greenwich Village
"Members Only, the fashion brand known for its 1980s bomber-style jackets, is opening a bar and store on November 21 at 53 West Eighth Street (between Fifth and Sixth avenues) in Greenwich Village. The three-level bar is meant as a permanent hangout, not a pop-up, with a ground-floor room for cocktails and snacks, a mezzanine retail space, and a more secluded lounge below for late-night groups and private events."
"Librae Bakery at 35 Cooper Square, near East Sixth Street, will host a one-day chocolate pop-up on Saturday, November 15, when London-based pastry chef and chocolatier Philip Khoury lands in New York with his newest release in the "Chocolate Love Letters" series. Khoury, the former head pastry chef at London department store Harrods, and founder of the London chocolate studio Khourys, is unveiling the "New York" Chocolate Bar, a riff on American apple pie."
Members Only will open a permanent three-level bar and store on November 21 at 53 West Eighth Street in Greenwich Village. The venue has a ground-floor cocktail room, a mezzanine retail space, and a lower secluded lounge for late-night groups and private events. The menu includes nostalgic cocktails (Blue Lagoon riffs, a yuzu-spiked Long Island iced tea, and a Singapore Sling at $18), a shot list from Brain Hemorrhage to Mind Eraser, and bar dishes such as gochujang fried chicken, tacos, oysters with wasabi granita, and chocolate bread pudding. Librae Bakery at 35 Cooper Square will host a one-day pop-up on November 15 with London chocolatier Philip Khoury unveiling a "New York" Chocolate Bar encased in salted caramel chocolate and layered with cinnamon apple compote, crust, and toasted almonds; bars start at $15 at 9 a.m. until sold out. The Indian restaurant Baar Baar closed in September and the marshal has taken legal possession of the space on behalf of the landlord.
