A Japanese grocery store just opened on the Upper West Side
"Another neighborhood grocery void has officially been filled and this one comes with sashimi-grade seafood and a droolworthy snack aisle. Hashi Market has just opened on the Upper West Side at 2780 Broadway, between West 107th and 108th Streets, taking over the former Garden of Eden space that has been closed since spring 2024. The doors opened last Wednesday , bringing in a Japanese grocery concept that's part supermarket, part mini department store and part prepared-food destination."
"Prepared foods are a major draw. The store offers freshly made sushi rolls, sashimi, bento-style options and premium seafood and meat, including Wagyu beef sourced from Japan. The shelves are stocked with imported Japanese snacks and sweets, most of which are straight from Japan, along with pantry staples for Japanese home cooking. There's also a beauty and lifestyle section featuring Asian skincare brands and minimalist home goods."
