5 can't-miss restaurant openings and dining updates in Boston this week

Greater Boston is experiencing a wave of new and diverse restaurant openings in 2025 across the metro area. Weekly highlights present spots that are already open alongside venues slated to debut later this year. A Martha's Vineyard taqueria that began as a pop-up will open at 1620 Tremont St., Mission Hill in January 2026 after a successful takeover of the Summer Shack space, serving burritos, tacos with shredded pork and blackened shrimp, and margaritas. An 11th Flour Bakery will occupy a former JP Licks site in Mission Hill offering sticky buns, cookies, pastries, sandwiches, and soft serve. George Howell's cafe joined the Lyrik mall offering rotating single-farm coffees, iced lattes, teas, pastries, and sandwiches.
