"With her first two films, Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, writer/director Emerald Fennell revealed a singular, slightly deranged worldview that's very cynical about people in general and relationships in particular. Now, it's time to see how she approaches her upcoming adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic novel Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. The new teaser trailer, released Wednesday, features the Charli XCX song "Everything Is Romantic" as well as the promise of much horniness between the film's two leads."
"The cast also includes Shazad Latif as Edgar, Hong Chau as Nelly, and Adolescence breakout star Owen Cooper (already an Emmy nominee at the age of 15). The famous story, studied in English classes going back decades, focuses on the complicated, doomed romance between the well-born Catherine and foundling Heathcliff. (TBD on whether Fennell's approach will involve anyone doing anything untoward on a grave or in a bathtub.)"
