Julia Garner confirmed she will play Madonna in the official Madonna biopic and said the project is a work in progress. Garner listed favourite Madonna songs, including 'Borderline,' 'Papa Don't Preach,' 'Burning Up,' Confessions On A Dance Floor, 'Vogue,' and 'Ray of Light.' Fans shared side-by-side photos comparing Garner and Madonna at age 32 and praised the casting. Garner recalled her audition, saying she asked herself "What would Madonna do?" and described convincing the room that she deserved the role. Garner was reportedly chosen in 2022 when the project was titled Who's That Girl after gruelling "Madonna bootcamp" auditions.
