The Lord of the Rings extended editions will return to theaters with DBOX and standard screenings. DBOX presentations will run January 16–19 and include seat movements and vibrations to simulate the journey to Mordor. Standard screenings will follow January 23–25. Limited-edition themed concession items will be available, including popcorn buckets featuring Middle-earth maps at AMC and One Ring designs at Regal and other local cinemas. The screenings celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring and present the Peter Jackson trilogy in extended-edition format for theatrical audiences.
