Briefly

Mia Carragher has been cast as Katniss Everdeen in the live stage adaptation of The Hunger Games, which opens on October 20, 2025. The production is adapted by Conor McPherson and directed by Matthew Dunster at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre. Dunster praised Carragher for her embodiment of Katniss's qualities. Carragher expressed her honor in stepping into Katniss's role. The production is designed for immersive storytelling and comes amid renewed interest in the franchise, sparked by the release of Collins's new novel, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Only one actor embodied her spirit of resilience, creativity, and understated strength. Mia Carragher delivers all of this and more. We're thrilled to have found our Katniss.
It's an honour to step into this role. Katniss has inspired millions, and I feel so lucky to bring her to life on stage, especially with such an extraordinary creative team.
The production will take place in the 1,200-seat Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, a purpose-built, in-the-round venue explicitly designed for immersive storytelling.
The Hunger Games books have sold more than 100 million copies in 52 languages, while the films have grossed over $3.4 billion globally.
