A range of local filmmakers presented short films at an award-winning cinema in south-east London during the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival. The volunteer-run festival is marking its 16th anniversary and operates as a roaming roster across small local venues, with related events planned in Raynes Park and Streatham this autumn. One evening screened twelve short films to a packed audience, with subjects spanning life in the jungles of Borneo to one woman’s experience of domestic abuse. Notable works included Sebastian Piette Pereira’s intimate interview film and Sakhile Shann’s Deposition on coercive behaviour.
