Ten Great Performances of Cannes 2026

Many attendees also reported that Sundance and SXSW had similarly mixed results, suggesting broader industry conditions rather than Cannes alone. A total of 40 films were seen, with most worth watching but very few genuinely great. The festival’s standout elements included notable performances across acclaimed films, even though the list of highlighted turns was not comprehensive. Each film was limited to one entry, which excluded other admired performances within the same movies.
