Surprise! A long-lost George Michael concert film & new album are about to drop - Queerty
"George Michael: The Faith Tour will feature restored and remastered footage shot at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy (now called the Accor Arena) Paris. More than a dozen 35mm cameras were rolling over as Michael performed two nights in 1988 as part of an international tour supporting his debut solo album."
"Alongside the concert footage, George Michael: The Faith Tour is also slated to include a short film by photographer Mary McCartney, daughter of a certain Beatle. The short film will boast narration from Michael-taken from a previously-unheard interview-plus newly-released images by photographer Herb Ritts and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the "Faith" music video."
"George Michael Entertainment is also producing the new live album, The Faith Tour, alongside Sony Music Entertainment. The album will include unarchived recordings from Michael's time both as a solo artist and a member of Wham!"
George Michael: The Faith Tour is a concert film featuring restored and remastered footage from two performances at Paris's Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in 1988, shot with over a dozen 35mm cameras. The film includes a short documentary by photographer Mary McCartney with narration from a previously-unheard Michael interview, newly-released Herb Ritts photographs, and behind-the-scenes content from the "Faith" music video. Director Andy Morahan, who helmed the original music videos, leads the project alongside David Austin, Michael's longtime collaborator and estate manager. Simultaneously, an 18-track live album titled The Faith Tour will release unarchived recordings from Michael's solo career and his time with Wham!, produced by George Michael Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment.
