Ryan Coogler's Sinners is making Black history yet again
Briefly

Ryan Coogler's Sinners achieved critical acclaim upon its April release, breaking numerous box office records and setting significant milestones in Black cinema. The film will be available on the streaming platform Max, becoming the first to debut in Black American Sign Language (BASL) on July 4. Nakia Smith, a social media personality and advocate within the deaf community, interpreted the film in BASL, emphasizing the importance of representation. Warner Bros. will also promote titles featuring sign language distinctively within their app to enhance accessibility.
"Bringing Sinners to life in BASL was an honor. This work goes beyond translation - it's about making sure Black Deaf voices, culture, and language are truly seen and felt."
"Accessibility within streaming is not a one-size-fits-all approach," said Naomi Waibel, SVP of global product management at Warner Bros.
