"I quite enjoyed kissing Jonathan Groff in Looking," Tovey responded. "We did lot of kissing and we had a very nice time on that. I've been very lucky, I've kissed a lot of attractive people [of] all genders."
"It was mainly white noise," he said. "I felt overwhelmed but it was wonderful I was very excited by it and everyone around me was very jealous. I got a lot of dirty looks."
Russell Tovey identified Jonathan Groff as the co-star with whom he most enjoyed on-screen kissing and noted extensive kissing while working on Looking. He complimented Tom Blyth’s "beautiful, very soft lips" when asked about his Plainclothes co-star. Tovey said he has been fortunate to kiss many attractive people of all genders. He recalled a Madonna concert at Madison Square Garden where being told to sing louder felt mainly like white noise, overwhelming but wonderful, and where those around him felt jealous. Plainclothes opens in the UK on 10 October and is set in 1990s New York.
