Betty Boop is returning to the big screen for the first time in almost 100 years. Quinta Brunson will develop and star in a movie centered on Miss Boop and her relationship with her creator, Max Fleischer. Betty Boop originally began as an anthropomorphized French poodle before transforming into a sassy Jazz Age singer and flapper, also known as a sex symbol. Her image has become widely recognizable across cartoons, Broadway, and consumer products. Mark Fleischer, Max’s grandson, said Brunson embodies Betty’s love of life, intelligence, humor, sassiness, and compassion, making the Betty-and-Max relationship feel immediate. The film is not releasing immediately, so audiences must wait longer for her big-screen return.
