No, not that film festival in Queens. The other one.
Briefly

The Queens World Film Festival has been running for 15 years and screens local and international films, while the newer Queens Film Festival exclusively features local filmmakers. Their similar names have resulted in significant confusion, as reported by Queens World Film Festival founder Katha Cato. She noted various instances where individuals mistakenly inquired about jobs or submission policies at the wrong festival. A lawsuit was filed due to the situation, initiated after the new festival sought to take over domains belonging to the Queens World Film Festival.
I've received inquiries about jobs that we're not offering. ... A gentleman called and wanted to know about some submission policies and realized that he had the wrong film festival, Cato said.
Cato said she saw the chaos coming when she was first introduced to Mridul Sharma over email at the beginning of last year and welcomed him to the community.
This, of course, was a ridiculous request, the lawsuit reads.
Cato, the founder of Queens World Film Festival, confirmed there is no affiliation between the two organizations despite operating in the same borough.
