"Guillermo del Toro's upcoming take on Frankenstein has looked great in trailers ( and looked great when I saw it in theaters) but one element has been largely shrouded in mystery: the monster itself. Yesterday Netflix teased a bit of the creature's new look in a poster, and now we have a trailer that shows how he looks in action."
"The design, meanwhile, comes courtesy lead creature designer Mike Hill, an artist and sculptor who previously worked with del Toro on projects like The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley, and Cabinet of Curiosities. You'll be able to check out del Toro's version of the story pretty soon. Frankenstein hits select theaters on October 17th, before streaming on Netflix on November 7th."
Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of Frankenstein reveals a dramatically redesigned creature unlike the classic depiction. Netflix released a poster tease followed by a new trailer showing the monster in motion. Jacob Elordi portrays the creature and provides its voice, narrating the monster's side of the dark story. Lead creature designer Mike Hill crafted the design; Hill previously collaborated with del Toro on The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley, and Cabinet of Curiosities. The film opens in select theaters on October 17 and begins streaming on Netflix on November 7.
