Dominique Thorne, who portrays Riri Williams in Ironheart, has experienced a long wait since filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2021. She prepared for Ironheart right afterward, but the series took years to materialize. Thorne feels a sense of relief now that the show is being released. Her character, a teen genius, navigates challenges that include a villain and her own emotions while trying to honor Tony Stark's legacy. The series concludes with a significant cliffhanger, highlighting the risks Riri takes in her journey.
It feels like a sigh of relief," Thorne tells Inverse from her home in Atlanta, now that Ironheart is finally out in the world. "[You] almost don't realize how much or how closely you're carrying that until you don't have to carry it anymore.

Ironheart spins off from Wakanda Forever with irrepressible energy and something to prove, not unlike its headstrong protagonist.
Riri strikes a deal that will change her life in every way... but it also puts her on the same slippery slope she witnessed in the Hood.
