Margaret Qualley revealed on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" that she tried to set up Bill Murray with her mother, Andie MacDowell. She recounted an encounter with Murray, who shared grievances from their time filming "Groundhog Day" in 1993. Both being single and residing in Charleston, Qualley observed a potential for reconciliation. Despite their past differences, she offered to connect them, believing it would be a lucky opportunity for Murray if he pursued it.
Murray and MacDowell, both single, both in Charleston and both - as she put it - "crazy." They’ve got this kind of rage towards each other, but maybe he’s trying to make amends.
Qualley explained that she ran into Murray just that day and was excited to mention how he wore a Piggly Wiggly shirt during their meeting.
Qualley recalled offering to give Murray her mother’s number so they could reconnect and said, "if he’s got any sense at all, he’d be the luckiest guy in the world."
Murray commented on how he and MacDowell didn’t get along while filming Groundhog Day, recalling her habits related to her hair and lines.
