"'Angel in the Snow' has always been one of my favorite songs by Elliott, one I'd always listen to around the holidays, so it was a huge joy to make this for such a sweet film," said Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold in a press release. "It wasn't even my idea! Took me back to handing out 'RIP Elliott' flyers at my high school graduation in 2004. Elliott Smith forever."

Robin Pecknold described the song as a long-time favorite he would listen to during the holidays and called making the track for the film a joy, noting a personal connection to Elliott Smith. The rendition remains faithful to the original while bearing Robin Pecknold's distinctive style. The soundtrack also includes covers and songs from Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent, Weyes Blood, Jeff Tweedy, and others. The film arrives on Prime Video on December 3.
