Jennifer Lopez is starring in her first musical film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, after a 30-year career. Lopez auditioned for the lead role of Evita in the 1996 film and did not get the part, which went to Madonna. Madonna’s Evita performance earned a Golden Globe and the film received five Oscar nominations, winning Best Original Song. Lopez also auditioned for Chicago and Nine, coming close on Nine. Lopez cites childhood influence from watching West Side Story and attended a Sept. 11 Los Angeles screening and Q&A for Kiss of the Spider Woman.
